About Fractional

Fractional is an applied-AI company based in Porto/Braga, Portugal, but working remotely with a few in-person workdays. We design and build AI agents and systems for Portuguese SMEs — not prototypes or dashboards, but systems that go live in production and replace real manual work: reconciling invoices, managing HR, running audits, processing credit applications. We have 20+ systems live in production with clients like Casa Financeira, Wewood, Dehouse, and Train your Dog.

We also build our own products: forhumans (an AI-native HR platform) and foraudits (an AI-native audit and compliance platform, partnered with the Instituto Português da Qualidade).

We work in small, hands-on teams that go from design to delivery, fast.

About the internship

As a Product Builder, you'll work side by side with our engineering and product team turning real business processes into AI systems that go live in production. Expect to build from week one. You'll go through every phase of our method: understanding the client's process, designing the solution, building with AI tools, and seeing the system actually get used.

It's designed for people with an engineering background (any field) who want to break into product and applied AI, learning to build real software in a client-facing context.

What you'll do

• Work directly with clients to understand real operational processes
• Help design and build agentic systems, using AI tools as a core part of the process, not an occasional shortcut
• Take part in every stage of the cycle: design, build, testing, delivery, and knowledge transfer to the client
• Contribute to our own products (forhumans, foraudits) when relevant
